How does Konsus ensure security and confidentiality?

Konsus adheres to the most recognized international security standards, and we are very concerned with safeguarding all customer information.

All data sent via Konsus.com is encrypted using 256-bit secure socket layer technology (SSL), and account passwords are hashed and salted using Bcrypt. We protect customer files with centralized security controls and administration of access rights by using Box for file storage and transfer. Box is an ISO 27001, SAS70 Type II, and Safe Harbor certified provider of online file storage and transfer services.

All Konsus personnel are background checked, and all our freelancers sign NDAs and go through confidentiality training.

Konsus has integrated with Braintree Payments, a PayPal subsidiary and a validated Level 1 PCI DSS Compliant Service Provider, for PCI Compliant storing of credit card and PayPal information. This means that Konsus is not able to access or read customer’s credit card or PayPal details. Please see www.braintreepayments.com for further information about Braintree.

Why do I need to log in to make an order with Konsus?

To ensure your security and privacy you need to be logged in to your account make an order with Konsus. Only by being logged in can we be sure that you actually control the email address you provide, and as such be sure that files and project information are not being disclosed to others.

Can I get an invoice rather than paying with credit card or PayPal?

We currently only provide the option of invoicing via email to our enterprise customers. All other customers need to add their credit card or PayPal details to their Konsus.com account before receiving any project files.

Konsus has integrated with Braintree Payments (a PayPal subsidiary), a validated Level 1 PCI DSS Compliant Service Provider, for PCI Compliant storing of credit card and PayPal information. Why do I need to add a payment method before receiving project files?

We trust our customers. Therefore, to make it as frictionless as possible to get a project started, we begin work as soon as an order is received. In order to invoice only after project completion without any up-front payment, we require that a payment method is added before we provide your project files.

Adding your credit card or PayPal details allows automatic payment after project completion so that you do not have to manually pay an invoice. You still get a receipt via email.

Log in to your account on Konsus.com, go to Billing and click “Add” next to Payment methods to provide your credit card or PayPal details.

I am not able to add a payment method, what should I do?

The most common reason is that you are using an unsupported browser or an outdated browser version that does not meet the necessary security requirements. We advise you to use an up-to-date version of Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

I am not able to log in, what should I do?

The most common reason is that you need to reset your password, even though you have never logged in previously. This is because we have reserved the emails of our existing customers as usernames to protect your security, and you simply need to set your password by clicking “Forgot your password?”.

Another reason may be that you are using an unsupported browser or an outdated browser version that does not meet the necessary security requirements. We advise you to use an up-to-date version of Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

How do I use Konsus together with my colleagues?

The most efficient way to use Konsus together with your colleagues is by adding team members to your Konsus.com account. Simply log in, go to Members, and click “Add Team Member”. Added members will receive an invitation via email to create an account on Konsus.com, and will show up under Members as they complete the registration. Your team will then share the same payment methods and company details, which will significantly increase your productivity and simplify cooperation.

Can Konsus start and complete projects on very short notice?

Yes. For our standard services we can typically get started in 30 minutes or less. For complicated or custom projects we might use a bit longer to put together the optimal team for your project.

How does Konsus handle changes of scope and requirements during the project?

If there are material changes to scope of work during the project, we discuss and adjust the project plan and quoted hours accordingly in collaboration with you. We do our best to provide an estimate with the information we have available, and always let you know up front if details come to light that can affect the quoted number of hours. We always make sure we have your approval to proceed if changes in project scope require additional hours of work.

Quite commonly, clients wish to increase the project scope or add additional features as they see the project develop. We have full understanding for this, and will always try to facilitate for any changes or additions to the project during the process.

Can I talk directly to the specialist?

Our project managers are highly skilled professionals with several years of relevant education and experience. They have done hundreds of projects with our specialists. It is most often much more efficient to communicate with the project manager which will then coordinate with the specialists and manage the team, so you don’t have to.

There are, however, situations where it is convenient that everyone on the team gets together on a call or video conference, so feel free to ask and we will facilitate.

Sometimes our customers wish to offer our specialists permanent employment. We strongly encourage this, as we are 100% committed to the long-term careers of our freelancers. Please let us know if this is your intention, and we will help facilitate.

Typically, this is relevant for companies with recurring tasks or larger or ongoing projects that last for several months.

For all other customers, we provide invoice the hours spent after the project is completed.

How do I send my files to Konsus?

Files can be securely uploaded by using the Project Wizard when starting a project, or they can be sent via chat or email. We take great care to provide secure file handling with our partner Box.com, our certified cloud storage provider.

Right now we accept less than 0.5 % of applications. In comparison, Google accepts 0.8 % of their applications.

We receive thousands of freelancer applications every week, and are doing our best to process them as fast as possible.

We reply to everyone with a status of the application as soon as we have processed it, so we can only kindly advise you to be patient. Also, bear in mind that getting accepted into the Konsus community is extremely competitive.

How does Konsus work?

Doing a project using Konsus is simple by design. After you send us your requirements and files, using our Project Wizard or email, staffing is started automatically and one of our project managers will reply shortly after. We carefully staff the optimal team based on skills, experience, and availability, and start immediately once you approve the estimate.

Depending on product and project scope, as well as your preferences with regard to involvement, we can provide drafts, samples, and alternatives during the project for your review and input. Taking into account your feedback we complete the project as quickly as possible. All work is quality-controlled by the project manager.

We invoice you after the project is completed, no up-front payment is requried. We have no fees or hidden costs, and we only invoice the number of hours used, even when it’s lower than what we quoted. You can pay with credit card or PayPal, which has to be added to your account on Konsus.com before we can start the project.

Can I get a quote on a complex project without detailed requirements?

Yes, in most cases. While great instructions are the surest way to a great product, we do our best to provide an estimate with the information we have available. Our project managers are trained in scoping and planning projects, and a good Konsus project manager has done tens, and perhaps hundreds of projects, so we will help you figuring out the details.

If further details come to light later in the process that affects the amount of work either way, we adjust the quoted number of hours in collaboration with our customers. This is most common in complex projects with little initial planning, and our customers are understanding of this dynamic.
